Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have managed employees for at least 5 years. This includes responsibility for making hiring / staffing decisions.
- A background in manufacturing is required.
- While a background in metal stamping is not required, it is highly preferred.Previous experience working in the automotive industry is preferred, but not required.This person must have strong leadership skills and the ability to bring a team together.
- Must be willing to work third shift, and weekends as needed to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities:
- Directs area leadmen and personnel to manufacture production requests in a safe efficient and cost effective manner.
- Work with leadmen to train associates on press setups and work to improve output of jobs in presses.
- Assures that employees are running jobs at the standard rate and investigates cause of variances from that rate.
- Train and develop associates on third shift. Assure all associates are held equally accountable to performance expectations.
- Responsible for coaching and counseling of associates, this includes execution of performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary action if applicable.
- Solves cases of low rate or notifies Manufacturing Manager if the problem can not be solved
- Assures Manufacturing Associates follow quality and safety procedures
- Verifies all setups(first piece approval) and ensure operators are trained properly to run and check parts in the area.
- Advises Manufacturing Manager of any production or Die Repair problems
